Eargasm. I went to the solidays, a French festival to collect funds to fight against aids, and then bought a record player and a few B.Os. But let's take things in the proper order.

The festival was an excellent day. I was planning to go alone but luckily met some friends there. We went to see the Paris Young Talents concert, that shows the three winners of a contest held in Paris. The first act was depressing, which is a shame... Because it was the first concert of the day. The second act, a mashup between emo guitar riffs and hip-hop singing was just so bad we left the stage and went to see an band from New Zealand. The flyer said it was "a rock band dressed like Kurt Cobain playing rock with bits of electronic music". In the end, it was 4 people dressed as emos, doing some music that would only fit in a night club, using guitars, bass and drums but also a whole DJ thing that completely screwed the sound. We gave up too, and went to the next act, Vanessa Paradis. She's quite famous in France as a singer, even if most people just don't like her. She's famous in other countries for being Johnny Depp's girlfriend... Her stage was one of the smallest in the festival, but there was A LOT of people, so we only stayed for one song, as it was impossible to see anything, and the music wasn't our genre either.

Then came the B.B. Brunes, which is the French equivalent to Tokyo Hotel. I know. It was SO funny, because we were in front, just next to all the 12 years old discovering sexuality. They were dressed as the guy from MGMT, with the destroyed top and the bandanna. We stayed long enough to burn our ears and get the songs stuck in our ears forever. We then went to Babylon Circus, a French ska band. To be fair, I never listened to ska before, and I had no idea what to expect... And it was hands down the best concert of the day. Not only was the music amazing, with their awesome trumpet or saxophone solos, but they were really making a show, so the audience was really into it too.

I bought the ticket to the festival to go and see Rodrigo y Gabriela, which I had missed twice in England, and it was disappointing. Their music is awesome, and the sound live was too, but there was no show whatsoever. They were just sitting down, or wandering around the stage, not talking at all, not asking for any of the audience's attention... I was really expecting more. But I ended the day by Ivan Le Bolloch' et Sa Guitare, which is the Spanish band of a famous comedian. So the music wasn't great, but the show was funny as hell. It's one of those act that you wouldn't pay to go to, but hey, he was here so let's just enjoy it.

This post is getting extra-long, I'll talk about the music I bought in another one.
